“When we read, we start at the beginning and continue until we reach the end. When we write, we start in the middle and fight our way out.”

Q‑Editors

Key to the Q‑Critique process is a trusted, accomplished editorial pool. All Q‑Editors are highly qualified professionals handpicked and overseen by The Queue’s Advisory Board. These experienced professionals include “constituent editors” from other publishing houses, published authors, college professors, writing instructors and experts in various fields; all perform thorough and objective critiques for a variety of manuscript categories and genres. In addition to our core editors, we have a pool of on-call editors for more specialized manuscripts. Q‑Critiques are assigned to editors on the basis of compatibility with a manuscript and expertise in the given genre.

“I received my marked-up manuscript and the official analysis, rating my novel an encouraging 2 on the 5Q descending scale of seaworthiness. I have apparently produced a story where the protagonist is the least realized character, and thrown in a number of distracting stylistic quirks that require attention. I will take a deep breath and set to work addressing the noted concerns, with the intent of resubmitting an improved effort under the [discount] offer. Please thank the reader responsible for the critique and thank you for your time.”
